  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of Jazz vintage movie posters, where we offer a wide range of artwork for cinema's ultimate documentary and musical film series.

The collection features posters from the movie St Louis Blues, a 1958 film about the composer W. C. Handy. Along with a terrific cast, including Bessie Smith, the film portrays Southern Black religious traditions and values against changing times for true opportunity (in the early days).

Also included are posters from Let’s Get Lost, a 1988 American documentary film written and directed by Bruce Weber, about the tempestuous life and career of jazz trumpeter Chet Baker. The title is from the song "Let's Get Lost," by Jimmy McHugh and Frank Loesser.

Featured are also posters from the movie Lady Sings the Blues, directed by Sidney J. Furie. This 1972 American biographical drama film is about jazz singer Billie Holiday, lightly based on her 1956 autobiography.

Film/Art Gallery's Jazz movie poster collection also includes posters from other films. It includes a 1 Sheet (27x41) poster for the groundbreaking, drug-themed documentary independent film The Cool World, set in Harlem, directed by Shirley Clarke, produced by Frederick Wiseman and featuring an appearance by Jazz great Dizzy Gillespie. Also included is a 1 Sheet (27x41) poster for the early John Cassavetes film Too Late Blues, starring Bobby Darin and Stella Stevens. Also featured is a scarce, wonderfully designed Jazz poster for the film Jazz on a Summer’s Day, directed Aram Avakian by Bert Stern, documenting the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. Performers included Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson, Gerry Mulligan, Dinah Washington, George Shearing, Anita O'Day, Jack Teagarden, Thelonious Monk, Chuck Berry and Big Maybelle; poster artwork is R. LeRoy.

Film/Art Gallery movie posters are original prints and film poster collectibles. These are original movie posters. We do not carry any movie poster reproductions or reprints of any kind.
