Susan Hayward was born on June 30th, 1917. The famous American actress and model earned awards recognition for her classic portrayals of women such as Jane Froman in the biopic, With a Song in My Heart, for which she earned an Academy Award  nomination.

Hayward also received awards notice for the role of alcoholic actress Lillian Roth in the movie I’ll Cry Tomorrow. The actress won a Cannes Film Festival award and helped turn the movie into a huge financial success.

Some of her other notable film contributions include memorable performances in the movies David and Bathsheba and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

Film/Art Gallery’s collection includes a variety of posters from the Valley of the Dolls. The movie is based on the life of novelist Jacqueline Susan, who struggled tremendously as an aspiring actress and had to let go of her dreams, settling for writing novels. The French release features work by artist Boris Grinsson.
