  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Annie Hall vintage movie posters. Film/Art Gallery offers a wide range of movie posters and artwork for one of the cinema's ultimate romantic comedy films.

Annie Hall, American romantic comedy film, released in 1977, was directed by Woody Allen from a screenplay he co-wrote with Marshall Brickman, starring the director himself Woody Allen as Alvy Singer and Diane Keaton as Annie Hall. The film was highly praised and won the Academy Award for Best Picture, received Oscars in three other categories: two for Allen (Best Director and, with Brickman, Best Original Screenplay), and Best Actress for Keaton. The film was also named the funniest ever written by the Writers Guild of America. Annie Hall has been named as a film that uses both therapy and analysis for comic effect.

The story is about a comedian Alvy Singer who is trying to understand why his relationship with Annie Hall ended a year ago. Growing up in Brooklyn, he displeased his mother with impossible questions about the emptiness of existence, but he was precocious about his innocent sexual curiosity.

The idea of Annie Hall was developed when Allen walked around New York City with co-writer Marshall Brickman. The two discussed the project which caused frustration and resulted in them rejecting the idea. Allen then wrote the first draft of a screenplay within a four-day period and sent it to Brickman to make modifications.

Our collection of original Annie Hall movie posters include the first release Annie Hall poster artwork by Gabor Gyarfas and in the Japanese version.
